Course Description

Food safety compliance is extremely important to businesses that are involved in the production, distribution, storage, retail and preparation of food and beverage. Food safety practices, or the lack of it can either make or break a company.

Introduction to Food Safety is an interactive awareness e-module for all employees in food processing plants, food supply and distribution chains and retail outlets. The module provides a comprehensive overview on Food Safety by discussing the importance of food safety, food safety laws, food safety hazards and preventive measures that can be taken to keep food safe.

The module is presented in three short interactive modules.

Module 1 - What is Food Safety?

This module defines food safety and discusses the discipline and regulations of food safety in Malaysia. 

Module 2 - Food Safety Hazards

This module discusses the causes of food contamination and identifies the 3 main food safety hazards.

Module 3 - Preventive Measures for Food Safety

This module discusses preventive measures to keep food safe, focusing on the HACCP plan.

Introduction to Food Safety provides interactive and engaging exercises and provides simple examples to explain concepts in Food Safety.

At the end of this module, learners will be able to:
